Les îles Vierges des États-Unis sont un groupe d'îles dans les Caraïbes qui sont une zone insulaire des États-Unis. Les îles sont géographiquement une partie de l'archipel des îles Vierges et sont situées dans les îles sous le Vent des Petites Antilles. Les îles Vierges américaines se composent des principales îles de Saint Croix, Saint John et Saint Thomas, ainsi que de l'île de l'eau beaucoup plus petite mais historiquement distincte et de nombreuses autres îles mineures environnantes. La superficie totale du territoire est de 133,73 milles carrés. La capitale du territoire est Charlotte Amalie sur l'île de Saint Thomas. À partir du recensement des États-Unis en 2010, la population comptait 106 405, principalement des personnes de descendance afro-caribéenne. Le tourisme est l'activité économique principale, bien qu'il existe un important secteur manufacturier de rhum. L'agriculture se fait à petite échelle sur l'île de Sainte-Croix, bien qu'elle ait connu une lente récession au cours des dernières années. Anciennement les Antilles danoises, elles ont été vendues aux États-Unis par le Danemark dans le Traité des Antilles danoises de 1916.
