Hindouisme
L'hindouisme (sanscrit: Dharma Sanatana (éternel), également connu sous le nom de Dharma Vaidika (Veda)) est une religion ou une philosophie dérivée du sous-continent indien et des environs. Cette religion est la plus ancienne religion connue dans le monde. Le livre religieux principal est le Vedas, divisé en quatre livres principaux, Rig Veda, Veda Yajur, Sama Veda et Atharva Veda. Le terme hindouisme embrasse une variété de pensée et de philosophie, ainsi que des cérémonies de bienfaisance très différentes. La plupart des hindous prient diverses divinités, et considèrent ces divinités comme des incarnations d'un grand esprit moniste de Brahman (Brahman), alors que beaucoup d'autres dévots se consacrent à un concept de divination pour Brahman (le Seigneur), par exemple le Vaishnavisme , Saïvisme et symbolisme. L'hindouisme est la troisième plus grande religion au monde, avec environ 900 millions de croyants (nombre 2005). Environ 890 millions d'entre eux vivent en Inde.
