हेमोस्टेसिस या हेमोस्टेसिस (प्राचीन यूनानी से: αἱμόστασις हैमॉस्टासिस "स्टेप्टिक (ड्रग)") एक प्रक्रिया है जो रक्तस्राव को रोकता है, जिसका अर्थ है एक क्षतिग्रस्त रक्त वाहिका के भीतर खून रखने (हेमोस्टेसिस के विपरीत हेमरेज है)। यह घाव भरने का पहला चरण है। इसमें रक्त को एक तरल से जेल तक बदलना शामिल है। बरकरार रक्त वाहिकाओं के थक्के को रक्त की प्रवृत्ति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए केंद्रीय हैं बरकरार वाहिकाओं के अंतःशिल्प कोशिकाओं को हेपरिन की तरह अणु और थ्रोम्मोडायडिलिन के साथ रक्त के थक्के रोकने होते हैं और नाइट्रिक ऑक्साइड और प्रोस्टेक्सेक्लिन के साथ प्लेटलेट एकत्रीकरण को रोकते हैं। जब एंडोथेलियल की चोट होती है, तो एंडोथेलियल कोशिकाएं जमावट और एकत्रीकरण अवरोधकों के स्राव को रोक देती हैं और इसके बदले वेन विलेब्रांड कारक को छिपाना जो चोट के बाद हेमोडासिस के रखरखाव को आरंभ करते हैं। हेमोस्टेसिस के तीन प्रमुख कदम हैं: 1) वास्कोसट्रक्शन, 2) प्लेटलेट प्लग द्वारा एक ब्रेक के अस्थायी रुकावट, और 3) रक्त जमावट, या एक फाइब्रिन थक्का के गठन। जब तक ऊतकों की मरम्मत की जाती है, तब तक ये प्रक्रिया छेद को छीलते हैं।
