तरल पदार्थ का तापमान, टीएल या तिलक, का उपयोग चश्मा, मिश्र और चट्टानों के लिए किया जाता है। यह उस तापमान को निर्दिष्ट करता है, जिसके ऊपर एक सामग्री पूरी तरह से तरल है, और अधिकतम तापमान जिसमें क्रिस्टल थर्मोडायनेमिक संतुलन में पिघल कर सकते हैं। तरल पदार्थ के तापमान से ऊपर सामग्री समरूपता पर समरूप और तरल है। तरल पदार्थ के तापमान के नीचे सामग्री पर निर्भर करते हुए अधिक से अधिक क्रिस्टल पिघल कर सकते हैं, अगर कोई पर्याप्त समय तक इंतजार कर रहा हो। हालांकि, तरल पदार्थ तापमान समरूप चश्मे के नीचे भी पर्याप्त रूप से तेज़ कूलिंग के माध्यम से प्राप्त किया जा सकता है, अर्थात् क्रिस्टलीकरण प्रक्रिया के गतिरोध के माध्यम से। क्रिस्टल चरण जो कि द्रव को तापमान को ठंडा करने पर पहले क्रिस्टेट करता है उसे प्राथमिक क्रिस्टलीय चरण या प्राथमिक चरण कहा जाता है। संरचना श्रेणी जिसमें प्राथमिक चरण स्थिर रहता है उसे प्राथमिक क्रिस्टलीय चरण क्षेत्र कहा जाता है। कांच उद्योग में तरल पदार्थ का तापमान महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि क्रिस्टलीकरण ग्लास पिघलने और प्रक्रिया बनाने के दौरान गंभीर समस्याएं पैदा कर सकता है, और इससे उत्पाद की विफलता भी हो सकती है।

The liquidus temperature, TL or Tliq, is mostly used for glasses, alloys and rocks. It specifies the temperature above which a material is completely liquid, and the maximum temperature at which crystals can co-exist with the melt in thermodynamic equilibrium. Above the liquidus temperature the material is homogeneous and liquid at equilibrium. Below the liquidus temperature more and more crystals may form in the melt if one waits a sufficiently long time, depending on the material. However, even below the liquidus temperature homogeneous glasses can be obtained through sufficiently fast cooling, i.e., through kinetic inhibition of the crystallization process. The crystal phase that crystallizes first on cooling a substance to its liquidus temperature is termed primary crystalline phase or primary phase. The composition range within which the primary phase remains constant is known as primary crystalline phase field. The liquidus temperature is important in the glass industry because crystallization can cause severe problems during the glass melting and forming processes, and it also may lead to product failure.
