पेरोक्साइड
एक पेरोक्साइड एक ऑक्सीजन ऑक्सीजन एकल बंधन या पेरोक्साइड आयनों, ओ 2- 2 वाला एक यौगिक है। ओ-ओ समूह को पेरोक्साइड समूह या पेरोक्ज़ो समूह कहा जाता है। ऑक्साइड आयनों के विपरीत, पेरोक्साइड आयन में ऑक्सीजन परमाणुओं का ऑक्सीकरण अवस्था -1 है। सबसे सरल स्थिर पेरोक्साइड हाइड्रोजन पेरोक्साइड है। सुपरऑक्साइड, डाइऑक्साइजिनीज, ओजोन और ओजोनिड्स को अलग से माना जाता है। पेरोक्साइड यौगिकों को मोटे तौर पर कार्बनिक और अकार्बनिक में वर्गीकृत किया जा सकता है। जबकि अकार्बनिक पेरोक्साइड में एक आयनिक, नमक की तरह वर्ण है, कार्बनिक पेरोक्साइड को सहसंयोजक बांडों का वर्चस्व है। पेरोक्साइड के ऑक्सीजन-ऑक्सीजन के रासायनिक बंधन अस्थिर होते हैं और आसानी से होमोलीटिक क्लेविज के माध्यम से प्रतिक्रियाशील कण में विभाजित होते हैं। इस कारण से, पेरोक्साइड प्रकृति में केवल छोटी मात्रा में, पानी, वायुमंडल, पौधों और पशुओं में पाए जाते हैं। पेरोक्साइड आयन गठन हाल ही में मुख्य तंत्रों में से एक के रूप में उजागर किया गया है जिसके द्वारा आक्साइड आयनिक क्रिस्टल में अधिक ऑक्सीजन को समायोजित करते हैं और इसमें ठोस ऑक्साइड ईंधन कोशिकाओं सहित कई औद्योगिक अनुप्रयोगों पर एक बड़ा प्रभाव पड़ सकता है। पेरोक्साइड के कार्बनिक पदार्थों पर एक विरंजन प्रभाव होता है और इसलिए कुछ डिटर्जेंट और बालों के रंगों में जोड़ा जाता है।
