१. दहकता हुआ कोयला । आग का
जलता हुआ टुकड़ा । बिना धुएँ की आग । निर्धुम अग्नि । उ०—
धवनि धवंती रहिं गई बुझि गए अंगार ।—कबीर ग्रं०, पृ० ५७ ।
२. स्फुलिंग । चिनगारी । उ०—अति अगिनि झार भंभार
धुंधार करि उचटि अंगार झंझार छायौ ।—सुर०, १० ।५९६ ।
मुहा०—अंगार उगलना = कड़ी कड़ी बातें मुँह से निकालना ।
ऐसी बात बोलना जिससे सुननेवाले कतो अत्यंत क्रोध उत्पन्न
हो । अंगार बनना = (१) खा पीकर लाल होना । मोटा
ताजा होना । (२) क्रोध में भरना । अंगार बरसना =
(१) अत्यंत अधिक गर्मी पड़ना । (२) दैवी आपत्ति आना ।
