लँगोट, लँगोटा संज्ञा पुं० [सं० लिङ्ग + ओट] [स्त्री० लँगोटी]
कमर पर बाँधने का एक प्रकार का बना हुआ वस्त्र जिससे केवल
उपस्थ ढका जाता है ।
विशेष—यह प्रायः लंबी पट्टी के आकार का अथवा तिकोना होता
है, जिसमें दोनों ओर कमर पर लपेटने के लिये बंद लगे रहते
हैं । प्रायः पहलवान लोग कुश्ती लड़ने या कसरत करने के
समय इसे पहना करते हैं । रुमाली ।
यौ०—लंगोट का कच्चा या ढीला = विषयी । कामी । लँगोट-
बद = ब्रह्माचारी । स्त्रीत्यागी ।
मुहा०—लँगोट कसना या बाँधना = लड़ने को तैयार होना ।
लँगोट रखना = (१) 'लंगर लँगोट रखना' । (२) पहलवानो
छोड़ देना ।
