Nel caso del sangue, l'albumina, che è in gran parte predominante, viene generalmente adsorbita in precedenza e successivamente si procede a riarrangiamenti a favore di altre proteine minori in base all'affinità di superficie rispetto alla selezione di legge di massa. Nota 2: le molecole adsorbite sono quelle che sono resistenti al lavaggio con lo stesso mezzo solvente in caso di adsorbimento da soluzioni.
