Un banchiere o maestro del banco è un anziano membro di un Inn of Court in Inghilterra e Galles. I banchieri hanno presieduto la carica per la vita una volta eletta. Un bancher può essere eletto mentre ancora un avvocato, in riconoscimento del contributo che l'avvocato ha fatto alla vita dell'Inn o alla legge. Altri diventano banchieri come una questione naturalmente quando nominati come giudice di alto giudizio. L'Inn può eleggere non-membri come banchi onorari - per esempio, giudici distinti e avvocati di altri paesi, eminenti non avvocati o membri della Famiglia Reale britannica, che diventano noti come "Royal Benchers" una volta eletti. Un membro di ogni Inn è il Tesoriere, una posizione che si svolge solo per un anno. Mentre la successione al posto del Tesoriere era una volta dipendente puramente dell'anzianità, questo non è più il caso. Il Tesoriere è ora eletto.
