Un bolometro (greco: βολόμετρον "bolometron", cioè misuratore (-μετρον) delle cose lanciate (βολο-)) è un dispositivo per misurare la potenza delle radiazioni elettromagnetiche incidente attraverso il riscaldamento di un materiale con una resistenza elettrica a temperatura dipendente. È stato inventato nel 1878 dall'astronomo statunitense Samuel Pierpont Langley. Il nome deriva dalla parola greca bole (βολή), per qualcosa gettato, come con un raggio di luce.
