Il Common Hawk-Cuckoo, popolarmente conosciuto come l'uccello del Cervello, è un cucciolo di medie dimensioni residente nel Subcontinente Indiano. Ha una stretta somiglianza con il Shikra, un falco di passero, anche nel suo stile di volo e di atterraggio su un pozzo. La somiglianza con i falchi dà a questo gruppo il nome generico del falco-cuculo e come molti altri cuccioli, questi sono parassiti di covoni, posando le loro uova in nidi di babblers. Durante la loro stagione di allevamento in estate i maschi producono chiamate a tre note ripetitive e rumorose che sono ben rappresentate come febbre cerebrale, la seconda nota è più lunga e più alta. Queste note risalgono ad un crescendo prima di terminare bruscamente e ripetere dopo qualche minuto; La chiamata può continuare la giornata, anche dopo il tramonto e prima dell'alba.
