Lampadina
In botanica, una lampadina è un fusto corto con foglie carnose o basi di foglie che funzionano come organi di stoccaggio di cibo durante la dormienza. Le basi delle foglie della lampadina, note anche come scale, generalmente non supportano foglie, ma contengono riserve di alimenti per consentire all'impianto di sopravvivere a condizioni avverse. Al centro della lampadina è un punto di crescita vegetativo o un sparatoria non fiammeggiante. La base è formata da un gambo e la crescita vegetale avviene da questa piastra basale. Le radici emergono dalla parte inferiore della base e nuovi gambi e foglie dal lato superiore. Le specie nei generi Allium, Hippeastrum, Narcissus e Tulipa sono tutte munite di lampadine di tunica. Le lampadine non tuniciche, come le specie di Lilium e Fritillaria, non dispongono della tunica protettiva e dispongono di scaglie più libere. Altri tipi di organi di stoccaggio sono a volte indicati come bulbi, anche se come il termine è usato in botanica, non lo sono. Il termine tecnico per le piante che formano gli organi di stoccaggio sotterranee, comprese le lampadine, nonché i tuberi ei cormi, è geophyte.
