CHE SIGNIFICA CALLOSE IN INGLESE
callose
Callose è un polisaccaride vegetale. È composto da residui di glucosio collegati tra loro tramite legami β-1,3 e viene definito β-glucano. Si pensa che sia fabbricato alla parete cellulare da sintesi di callosi ed è degradato da β-1,3-glucanasi. È fissato a plasmodesmata, alla piastra cellulare durante la citochine e durante lo sviluppo del polline. Viene prodotto in risposta a ferite, infezioni da agenti patogeni, alluminio e acido abscisico. I depositi spesso appaiono sulle lastre di schiuma alla fine della stagione di coltivazione. Callose si forma anche immediatamente attorno ai meiociti in sviluppo e ai tetradici di riproduzione sessuale di angiospermi, ma non si trova nei relativi taxa apomittici.
