Le montagne dei Carpazi oi Carpazi sono una serie di montagne che formano un arco di circa 1.500 km lungo l'Europa centrale e orientale, rendendole la seconda catena montuosa più lunga in Europa (dopo le montagne scandinave, 1.700 km) . I Carpazi consistono in una catena di catene montuose che si estendono in un arco dalla Repubblica Ceca (3%) nel nord-ovest attraverso la Slovacchia (17%), Polonia (10%), Ungheria (4%) e Ucraina (11%) Romania (53%) a est e sopra alle porte di ferro sul fiume Danubio tra Romania e Serbia (2%) nel sud.
