Una Cefeide è una stella che varia tra uno stato più grande e più luminoso e un più piccolo e più denso. Sono stelle luminose molto variabili, di una classe particolarmente massiccia e calda, usando il loro combustibile in anticipo, lasciandoli in questa condizione pulsata.
