Proprietà colligative
Nella chimica, le proprietà colligative sono proprietà delle soluzioni che dipendono dal rapporto tra il numero di particelle solute al numero di molecole di solvente in una soluzione e non sul tipo di specie chimiche presenti. Questo numero può essere correlato alle diverse unità di concentrazione delle soluzioni. Qui prenderemo in considerazione solo quelle proprietà che derivano dalla dissoluzione del soluto non volatile in un solvente liquido volatile. Sono indipendenti dalla natura delle particelle solute e sono dovute essenzialmente alla diluizione del solvente dal soluto. La parola colligativa deriva dal significato colligato latino che è legato insieme. Le proprietà colligative includono: ▪ abbassamento relativo della pressione del vapore; ▪ elevazione del punto di ebollizione; ▪ depressione del punto di congelamento; ▪ pressione osmotica. La misurazione delle proprietà colligative per una soluzione diluita di un soluto non ionizzato come urea o glucosio in acqua o in un altro solvente può portare alla determinazione delle masse molari relative sia per le piccole molecole che per i polimeri che non possono essere studiati con altri mezzi.
