Il sistema Concurrent Versions, noto anche come il sistema di versatilità concorrente, è un sistema di controllo gratuito di revisione del software client-server nel campo dello sviluppo del software. Un sistema di controllo delle versioni tiene traccia di tutti i lavori e di tutte le modifiche di un insieme di file e consente a diversi sviluppatori di collaborare. Dick Grune ha sviluppato CVS come una serie di script di shell nel luglio 1986. Oltre agli sviluppatori di software commerciali, CVS è diventato popolare nel mondo del software open source ed è stato rilasciato sotto la GNU General Public License.
