Nella grammatica, i correlativi sono parole che sono separate in una frase ma funzionano insieme per eseguire una singola funzione. In inglese, gli esempi sono entrambi - e, o - o, nè - nè - il, il così e quello. Nelle lingue romanze, i pro-forma dimostrativi funzionano come correlativi con i relativi pro-forma, come autent-que in francese; In inglese, i dimostrativi non vengono utilizzati in tali costruzioni, che dipendono solo dal relativo: "Ho visto quello che hai fatto", piuttosto che "" Ho visto questo, quello che hai fatto ".
