Dacite / deɪsaɪt / è una roccia ignea, vulcanica. Ha una struttura aphanitic a porphyritic ed è intermedio nella composizione tra andesite e riolite. Le relative proporzioni di feldspars e quarzo in dacite e in molte altre rocce vulcaniche sono illustrate nel diagramma QAPF. Dacite è anche definito da silice e contenuto alcalino nella classificazione TAS. La parola dacite proviene da Dacia, provincia dell'Impero romano che si trovava tra il fiume Danubio e le montagne dei Carpazi, dove la roccia fu descritta per la prima volta.
