Un desmosome, noto anche come adesivo macula, è una struttura cellulare specializzata per l'adesione cellulare-cellula. Un tipo di complesso junctional, sono situazioni spot-like localizzate disposte in modo casuale sui lati laterali delle membrane plasmatiche. I desmosomi aiutano a resistere alle forze di taglio e si trovano nell'epitelio squamoso semplice e stratificato. Lo spazio intercellulare è molto ampio. I desmosomi si trovano anche nel tessuto muscolare dove legano le cellule muscolari l'una all'altra.
