La selezione a distanza diretta o la linea diretta è un termine di telecomunicazione per una funzionalità di servizio fornita in rete in cui un chiamante di chiamata può, senza l'assistenza dell'operatore, chiamare qualsiasi altro utente al di fuori dell'area di chiamata locale. DDD richiede più cifre nel numero selezionato di quello richiesto per la chiamata all'interno dell'area locale o del prefisso. Il DDD si estende oltre i limiti della rete telefonica pubblica nazionale, nel qual caso è chiamato chiamata internazionale diretta o internazionale chiamata a distanza diretta. DDD è un termine del piano di numerazione nord americano considerato obsoleto poiché il completamento di una chiamata in qualsiasi modo diverso dalla selezione diretta è diventato raro. Nel Regno Unito e in altre parti del Commonwealth of Nations, i termini equivalenti sono o sono stati "STD", per la selezione del trunk di abbonati e "ISD" per la selezione internazionale del trunk di abbonati.
