CHE SIGNIFICA DOWNSTAGE IN INGLESE
Blocco (fase)
Nel teatro, il blocco è il preciso movimento e il posizionamento degli attori su un palco per facilitare la realizzazione di un gioco, un balletto, un film o un'opera. Il termine deriva dalla pratica di registi teatrali del XIX secolo come Sir W. S. Gilbert che ha elaborato la scena di una scena in miniatura con blocchi per rappresentare ciascuno degli attori. Nel teatro contemporaneo, il regista determina solitamente il blocco durante la prova, dicendo gli attori dove dovrebbero spostarsi per il giusto effetto drammatico, assicurare linee di vista per il pubblico e lavorare con il design illuminotecnico della scena. Ogni scena in un gioco è di solito "bloccata" come unità, dopo di che il regista passerà alla scena successiva.
