Quantificazione esistenziale
Nella logica predicato, una quantificazione esistenziale è un tipo di quantificatore, una costante logica che viene interpretata come "esiste", "c'è almeno uno" o "per alcuni". Essa esprime che una funzione proposizionale può essere soddisfatta da almeno un membro di un dominio del discorso. In altri termini, è la predicazione di una proprietà o di una relazione con almeno un membro del dominio. Essa afferma che un predicato nell'ambito di un quantificatore esistenziale è vero di almeno un valore di una variabile predicato. Di solito è indicato dal simbolo operatore logico E (∃), che, se utilizzato insieme a una variabile predicato, viene chiamato quantificatore esistenziale ("∃x" o "∃ (x)"). La quantificazione esistenziale è distinta dalla quantificazione universale ("per tutti"), che afferma che la proprietà o la relazione è valida per tutti i membri del dominio.
