CHE SIGNIFICA FILM SPEED IN INGLESE
Velocità del film
La velocità del film è la misura della sensibilità alla luce della pellicola fotografica, determinata dalla sensitometria e misurata su varie scale numeriche, il più recente del sistema ISO. Un sistema ISO aderente è utilizzato per misurare la sensibilità dei sistemi di imaging digitale. Pellicola relativamente insensibile, con un indice di velocità corrispondentemente più basso, richiede maggiore esposizione alla luce per produrre la stessa densità dell'immagine come un film più sensibile e viene quindi comunemente definito un film lento. Film ad alta sensibilità sono pertanto definiti film veloci. Nella fotografia digitale e in pellicola, la riduzione dell'esposizione corrispondente all'utilizzo di sensibilità superiori porta generalmente a ridurre la qualità dell'immagine. In breve, maggiore è la sensibilità, più grainier l'immagine. In ultima analisi la sensibilità è limitata dall'efficienza quantistica del film o del sensore.
