Francium è un elemento chimico con simbolo Fr e numero atomico 87. Era precedentemente noto come eca-cesium e actinium K. È uno dei due elementi meno elettro-negativi, l'altro è cesio. Francium è un metallo altamente radioattivo che si decompone in astatina, radio e radon. Come metallo alcalino, ha un elettrone di valenza. Il bulk francium non è mai stato visto.
