Materialismo storico
Il materialismo storico è un approccio metodologico allo studio della società, dell'economia e della storia, articolato per la prima volta da Karl Marx come la concezione materialista della storia. È una teoria dello sviluppo socioeconomico secondo cui i cambiamenti nelle condizioni materiali sono l'influenza primaria su come la società e l'economia sono organizzate. Il materialismo storico cerca le cause degli sviluppi e dei cambiamenti nella società umana nei mezzi con cui gli umani producono collettivamente le necessità della vita. Le classi sociali e il rapporto tra loro, oltre alle strutture politiche e ai modi di pensare nella società, si fondano e riflettono l'attività economica contemporanea. Dalla data di Marx, la teoria è stata modificata e ampliata da migliaia di pensatori marxisti. Adesso ha molte varianti marxiste e non marxiste.
