Storiografia
La storia si riferisce allo studio della metodologia degli storici e allo sviluppo della "storia" come disciplina, ma anche a un corpo di lavoro storico su un particolare argomento. Gli studiosi discutono topograficamente la storiografia - come la "storiografia dell'Impero britannico", la "storiografia dell'inizio dell'Islam" o la "storiografia della Cina" - così come diversi approcci e generi, come la storia politica o la storia sociale. A partire dall'Ottocento, con l'ascesa della storia accademica, si sviluppò un corpo di letteratura storiografica.
