Miscibilità
Miscibilità / mɪsɨbɪlɨti / è proprietà di sostanze da miscelare in tutte le proporzioni, formando una soluzione omogenea. Il termine è più spesso applicato ai liquidi, ma si applica anche a solidi e gas. L'acqua e l'etanolo, per esempio, sono miscibili perché si mescolano in tutte le proporzioni. Al contrario, si dice che le sostanze sono immiscibili se una proporzione significativa non forma una soluzione. In caso contrario, le sostanze sono considerate miscibili. Ad esempio, il butanone è notevolmente solubile in acqua, ma questi due solventi non sono miscibili perché non sono solubili in tutte le proporzioni.
