Nella scienza dell'informazione, un elenco collegato è una struttura di dati costituita da un gruppo di nodi che insieme rappresentano una sequenza. Sotto la forma più semplice, ogni nodo è composto da un dato e un riferimento al nodo successivo della sequenza; Varianti più complesse aggiungere ulteriori collegamenti. Questa struttura consente l'inserimento efficace o la rimozione di elementi da qualsiasi posizione nella sequenza. Un elenco collegato i cui nodi contengono due campi: un valore intero e un collegamento al nodo successivo. L'ultimo nodo è collegato a un terminatore utilizzato per indicare la fine dell'elenco. Gli elenchi collegati sono tra le strutture di dati più semplici e comuni. Possono essere utilizzati per implementare diversi altri tipi di dati astratti, inclusi elenchi, stack, code, array associativi e espressioni S, anche se non è raro implementare direttamente le altre strutture di dati senza utilizzare una lista come base di implementazione. Il vantaggio principale di un elenco collegato su un array convenzionale è che gli elementi di elenco possono essere facilmente inseriti o rimossi senza riallocazione o riorganizzazione dell'intera struttura poiché le voci di dati non devono essere memorizzate in modo contiguo in memoria o su disco.
