Nell'elettronica, una bobina di caricamento o una bobina di carico è un induttore che non fornisce l'accoppiamento ad alcun altro circuito, ma viene inserito in un circuito per aumentarne l'induttanza. Il termine è nato nel XIX secolo per gli induttori usati per prevenire distorsioni nei cavi sottomarini telegrafici. Le bobine di caricamento sono ancora utilizzate nei cavi lunghi. Il termine viene utilizzato anche per gli induttori nelle antenne, o tra l'antenna e la linea di alimentazione, per creare un'antenna elettricamente corta risonante alla sua frequenza di funzionamento. Le bobine di caricamento sono archeologicamente note come Bobine di Pupin dopo Mihajlo Pupin e il processo di inserimento è talvolta chiamato pupinizzazione. La necessità di caricare le bobine è stata scoperta da Oliver Heaviside nello studio della scarsa velocità di segnalazione del primo cavo telegrafo transatlantico negli anni 1860. Ha concluso che era necessaria un'induttanza aggiuntiva per impedire la distorsione dell'ampiezza e del ritardo di tempo del segnale trasmesso. La condizione matematica per la trasmissione senza distorsione è nota come condizione Heaviside.
