Il movimento metodista è un gruppo di denominazioni storicamente legate al cristianesimo protestante che deriva l'ispirazione dalla vita e dagli insegnamenti di John Wesley. George Whitefield e il fratello di John Charles Wesley erano anche importanti leader del movimento. Fu come origine della rinascita all'interno della chiesa in Inghilterra del XVIII secolo e divenne una chiesa separata dopo la morte di Wesley.
