Modificatore dangling
Un modificatore dangling è un costrutto grammaticale ambiguo, in cui un modificatore grammaticale potrebbe essere erroneamente interpretato come associato ad una parola diversa da quella prevista o senza alcuna parola particolare. Ad esempio, uno scrittore potrebbe aver inteso modificare il soggetto, ma l'ordine di parola fa che il modificatore sembri modificare un oggetto. Tali ambiguità possono portare a umori involontari o difficoltà a comprendere una frase in contesti formali. Un esempio tipico di un modificatore a coda è illustrato a Turning the corner, appariva un bell'edificio scolastico.
