Mnemonico
Un dispositivo mnemonico o mnemonico è una tecnica di apprendimento che aiuta la conservazione delle informazioni. Le mnemoniche mirano a tradurre le informazioni in una forma che il cervello possa mantenere meglio della sua forma originale. Anche il processo di apprendimento di questa conversione potrebbe già aiutare nel trasferire le informazioni alla memoria a lungo termine. Le mnemoniche comunemente rilevate vengono spesso utilizzate per elenchi e in forma uditiva, come poesie corte, acronimi o frasi memorabili, ma le mnemoniche possono essere utilizzate anche per altri tipi di informazioni e nelle forme visive o cinestetiche. Il loro utilizzo è basato sull'osservazione che la mente umana ricorda più facilmente le informazioni spaziali, personali, sorprendenti, fisiche, sessuali, umoristiche o altrimenti "relatable" piuttosto che forme astratte o impersonali di informazioni. La parola mnemonico deriva dalla parola antica greca μνημονικός, che significa "memoria, o relativa alla memoria" ed è legata a Mnemosyne, nome della dea della memoria nella mitologia greca. Entrambe queste parole derivano da μνήμη, "memoria, memoria". Mnemoniche nell'antichità furono più spesso considerate nel contesto di quello che oggi è conosciuto come l'arte della memoria.
