Nella matematica, le mollificatrici sono funzioni lisce con proprietà speciali utilizzate nella teoria della distribuzione per creare sequenze di funzioni lisce che approssimano le funzioni nonsmooth, attraverso la convoluzione. Intuitivo, dato una funzione che è piuttosto irregolare, convolvendola con un mollifier la funzione viene "mollificata", cioè le sue caratteristiche nitide vengono lisciate, pur rimanendo vicine alla funzione originale nonsomoth. Sono conosciuti anche come mollifieri di Friedrichs dopo Kurt Otto Friedrichs, che li ha presentati.
