Il Consiglio Nazionale per lo Sviluppo Economico è stato un forum di pianificazione economico corporatista istituito nel 1962 nel Regno Unito per riunire la direzione, i sindacati e il governo nel tentativo di affrontare il declino economico in Gran Bretagna. È stato sostenuto dall'Ufficio nazionale per lo sviluppo economico. Entrambe erano conosciute come Neddy e le organizzazioni di settore affiliate che si occupano di singole industrie o settori di attività sono stati chiamati "piccoli Neddys". Fu descritto alla Camera dei Comuni nel luglio 1961 da allora cancelliere Selwyn Lloyd e fu incontrato per la prima volta nel 1962. Era modellato nel Consiglio economico e sociale francese e rimase un giocatore influente nei governi di Edward Heath, Harold Wilson e James Callaghan in termini di definizione della strategia futura per l'industria e l'industria britannica, anche se non in termini di relazioni industriali. Era guidata da una serie di industriali consensuali Sir Geoffrey Chandler e Bernard Asher e ex funzionari pubblici, ad es. John Cassels e un accademico Walter Eltis.
