Numidia
Numidia era un regno Berber-Libia in quello che oggi è Algeria e una parte minore della Tunisia occidentale, nel Nord Africa. Numidia era originariamente divisa tra Massylii a est e Masaesyli in occidente. Durante la seconda guerra punica, Massinissa, re del Massylii, sconfisse Syphax dei Masaesyli per unificare la Numidia in un solo regno. Il regno cominciò come uno stato sovrano e successivamente si alternava tra essere una provincia romana ed essendo uno stato client romano. Era delimitata dai regni di Mauretania ad ovest, dalla provincia romana d'Africa a est, dal Mediterraneo a nord e dal deserto del Sahara a sud. È considerato il primo grande stato nella storia dell'Algeria e del mondo berbero.
