Meiosis i / maɪoʊsɨs / è un tipo speciale di divisione cellulare necessaria per la riproduzione sessuale in eucarioti, quali animali, piante e funghi. Il numero di set di cromosomi nella cellula sottoposta a meiosi è ridotto a metà del numero originale, tipicamente da due set a un set.
