Il piccione passeggero o il piccione selvaggio è un uccello nord americano estinto. Chiamato dopo il passaporto francese per "passare", era una volta l'uccello più abbondante del mondo. Rappresentava più di un quarto di tutti gli uccelli in Nord America. La specie viveva in enormi greggi migratori fino all'inizio del XX secolo, quando la caccia e la distruzione degli habitat hanno portato alla sua scomparsa. Un gregge nel 1866 nel sud dell'Ontario è stato descritto come 1 mi di larghezza e 300 mi di lunghezza, ha preso 14 ore per passare, e detenuto in eccesso di 3,5 miliardi di uccelli.
