Perorazione
Nella retorica classica, una perorazione era la parte finale di un discorso. Era uno dei quattro o cinque componenti tradizionali nella disposizione di un discorso. La perorazione aveva due scopi principali: ricordare al pubblico i punti principali del discorso e influenzare le proprie emozioni. Il ruolo della perorazione è stato definito dagli scrittori greci sulla retorica, che lo chiamavano epiloghi; Ma è spesso associato agli oratori romani, che hanno fatto uso frequente di appelli emotivi. Un esempio famoso è stato il discorso di Marcus Antonius Orator in difesa di Aquilus, durante il quale Antonius strappò la tunica di Aquilus per rivelare le sue cicatrici da battaglia. Nel primo secolo B.C. Era comune che due o più relatori appaiano su ogni lato in casi di grande tribunale. In tali casi è stato considerato un segno d'onore da chiedere di consegnare la perorazione.
