Pharming è un attacco informatico destinato a reindirizzare il traffico di un sito web ad un altro sito falso. Pharming può essere condotta sia cambiando il file hosts sul computer di una vittima o sfruttando una vulnerabilità nel software server DNS. I server DNS sono computer responsabili per risolvere i nomi di Internet nei propri indirizzi IP. I server DNS compromessi vengono talvolta definiti "avvelenati".
