Phasor
Nella fisica e nell'ingegneria, un vettore di fase, o phasor, è una rappresentazione di una funzione sinusoidale la cui ampiezza, frequenza e fase sono time-invariant. È un sottoinsieme di un concetto più generale chiamato rappresentazione analitica. I fasori separano le dipendenze da A, ω e θ in tre fattori indipendenti. Ciò può essere particolarmente utile poiché il fattore di frequenza è spesso comune a tutti i componenti di una combinazione lineare di sinusoidi. In queste situazioni, i phasor consentono di considerare questa caratteristica comune lasciando solo le funzioni A e θ. Il risultato è che la trigonometria si riduce all'algebra e le equazioni differenziali lineari diventano quelle algebriche. Il termine phasor si riferisce pertanto spesso a questi due fattori. Nei testi più vecchi, un phasor è anche definito come un sinor.
