CHE SIGNIFICA PHENOCOPY IN INGLESE
fenocopia
Una fenocopia è una variazione di fenotipo che è causata da condizioni ambientali, in modo che il fenotipo dell'organismo corrisponda a un fenotipo determinato da fattori genetici. Non è un tipo di mutazione, in quanto non ereditario. Il termine è stato coniato da Richard Goldschmidt nel 1935. Lo usava per riferirsi a forme prodotte da qualche procedura sperimentale, il cui aspetto duplica o copia il fenotipo di un mutante o una combinazione di mutanti.
