Poliedro
Nella geometria elementare, un poliedro è un solido in tre dimensioni con visi piani, bordi dritti e angoli o vertici affilati. Il termine "poliedro" deriva dal classico greco πολύεδρον, come poli- + eo. Cubi, piramidi e alcuni toroidi sono esempi di polihedra. Un poliedro si dice convesso se la sua superficie non si interseca e il segmento di linea che unisce due punti del polihedro è contenuto nell'interno o nella superficie. Un poliedro è un esempio tridimensionale del polytope più generale in qualsiasi numero di dimensioni.
