CHE SIGNIFICA POLYSYNTHESIS IN INGLESE
Lingua polysintetica
Nella tipologia linguistica, i linguaggi polysintetici sono linguaggi altamente sintetici, cioè lingue in cui le parole sono composte da molti morfemi. I linguaggi polysintetici hanno tipicamente lunghe "parole di frase" come la parola Yupik érintiqatarniksaitengqiggtuq, il che significa "non aveva ancora detto che stava per cacciare rene". La parola è costituita dai morphemes tuntu-ssur-qatar-ni-ksaite-ngqiggte-uq con i significati, reindeer-hunt-future-say-negation-again-third.person.singular.indicative; E tranne il morpheme tuntu "renne", nessuno degli altri morfemi può apparire in isolamento. Mentre le lingue isolanti hanno un basso rapporto morpheme-to-word, le lingue polisintetiche hanno un rapporto molto elevato. Non esiste una definizione generalmente concordata della polisintesi. Alcuni autori lo applicano alle lingue con rapporti di morpheme-to-word elevati, mentre altri lo utilizzano per le lingue altamente marcate o quelle che spesso utilizzano l'incorporazione dei nomi.
