Nella matematica, una superficie quadricgica o quadrica è qualsiasi ipersuperficie D-dimensionale nello spazio -dimensionale definita come il luogo di zeri di un polinomio quadratico. In coordinate, il quadriccio generale è definito dall'equazione algebrica che può essere scritta compatta in notazione matrice e vettoriale come: dove x = è un vettore di riga, xT è la trasposizione di x, Q è una matrice di × e P è una dimensione Vettore di riga e R una costante scalare. I valori Q, P e R sono spesso considerati numeri reali o numeri complessi, ma in realtà un quadriccio può essere definito su qualsiasi anello. In generale, il locus di zeri di un insieme di polinomi è noto come una varietà algebrica e viene studiato nel ramo della geometria algebrica.
