Securitization è la pratica finanziaria di pooling di vari tipi di debiti contrattuali come mutui residenziali, ipoteche commerciali, prestiti auto o obbligazioni di debito con carta di credito e vendendo a diversi investitori il debito consolidato come obbligazioni, titoli pass-through o obbligazioni ipotecarie collateralizzate. Il principio e gli interessi sul debito, alla base della garanzia, vengono restituiti regolarmente ai vari investitori.
