Nella geometria, un simplex è una generalizzazione della nozione di un triangolo o di un tetraedro a dimensioni arbitrarie. In particolare, un k-simplex è un polytope k-dimensionale che è lo scafo convesso dei suoi vertici k + 1. Più formalmente, supponiamo che i punti k + 1 siano affinamente indipendenti, il che significa linearmente indipendenti. Poi, il simplex determinato da loro è l'insieme dei punti.
