Sono animali sociali e vivono in gruppi fino a 35 individui, ma si divideranno a foraggi durante il giorno. Recentemente meta-analisi sugli studi di cognizione dei primati indicano che le scimmie di ragno sono le scimmie più intelligenti del Nuovo Mondo.
