Nell'anatomia, l'epitelio squamoso è un epitelio caratterizzato dal suo strato superficiale costituito da cellule piane e scalate chiamate cellule epiteliali squamose. L'epitelio può essere composto da uno strato di queste cellule, nel qual caso è indicato come epitelio squamoso semplice, oppure può avere strati multipli, detta come epitelio squamoso stratificato.
