Pino di pietra
Il pino di pietra, chiamato anche pino in pietra italiana, pino di ombrello e pino parasole, è un albero della famiglia di pini. L'albero è nativo nella regione mediterranea, che si svolge nell'Europa meridionale e nel Levante. È naturalizzato anche in Nord Africa, Isole Canarie, Sudafrica e Nuovo Galles del Sud. La specie è stata introdotta nel millennio fa del Nord Africa, tanto tempo che è essenzialmente indistinguibile da essere nativo. L'albero è però considerato un fastidio invasivo in Sudafrica. I pini di pietra sono stati utilizzati e coltivati per i loro pini a base di verdure dal periodo preistorico. Sono diffuse nella coltivazione orticola come alberi ornamentali, piantati in giardini e parchi in tutto il mondo. Questa pianta ha ottenuto il premio del Garden Horticultural Society del Garden Merit.
